Spiderman Mike

Mike told Lette a while back that he was spiderman. This was funny at first, but now it's reach a whole new level of insanity. The last couple of times Lette has talked with Mike on the phone (while he is at work) she has asked the following question, "Dad you doin spiberman stuff?" He then replies, "Yes, I doing Spiderman stuff."

With that said, here's a true update on Mike. People ask me quite often about what he does, so here's the down-low.

Mike works for a law firm called McGuinness & Yager, LLP, which is essentially a holding company for non-profit organization called HR Policy Association www.hrpolicy.org. What does he do (he could detail his job much better than I can, but here goes simple explanation)? The association represents the Human Resource Presidents of hundreds of very large companies. They work with these companies lobbying, negotiating and constructing human resources related laws. For example, he has been working on the American Disabilities Restoration Act, which was trying to be passed by the Democrats. HR Policy Association has been working with other business groups and disability groups to reach a compromise on the ADA legislation. It took many months to reach an agreement. Mike was able to have some pretty amazing experiences and has met personally with Members of Congress and White House Personnel.

This job is right up his alley and he loves it! My explanation did not fully explain what he does, but to Lette he's just Spiderman. She thinks he spins webs, capture crooks and fights evil all day. Oh wait! He's working with government officials, so I guess he is capturing crooks and fighting evil. Who knew!

Just wait to Halloween when I force him to wear a spandex Spiderman get-up.
